Board of Advisors

Act for Unity Board of AdvisorsThe six members of ACT’s Board of Advisors are all long-term reparations activists with years in the effort. Some of us helped to organize CURE – Caucasians United for Reparations and Emancipation. CURE members authored two anthologies on reparations and spoke out on TV and radio from 1994 to 2006. Ida, Dorothy (Nasirah) and Hugh were among the founders of CURE. CURE achieved UN Consultative status in 1997.

The next three members of our Board are also members of All for Reparations and Emancipation – AFRE. (CURE was re-named AFRE in 2000.) These Advisors worked with Afrodescendant leaders to support and participate in the UN effort. Aamina was involved with the NGO from the origin with regard to documentation and fundraising as was Maia, who published reports as Editor of Muhammad Speaks and participated in a Working Group. Zaki is a long-time reparations supporter and scholar who creates videos and podcasts on reparations. We’re glad he’s with us.

We have come together to ACT. We believe in the power of Unity and we wish to support the effort as best we can. With the power of Unity, reparations, restoration and self-determination can be achieved.

What can you do to help? You can ACT too. Contribute!
